Grants and Scholarships
The Synod offers various grants to support your ministry goals, including Special and Restricted Funds, Partnering Grants, and Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation Grants, along with the Rev. Dr. Leon E. Fanniel Racial Ethnic Pastoral Leadership Scholarship Program (REPL).
Grant applications can be completed electronically and submitted via email. Note that PDF forms must be downloaded to your device before filling them out; simply viewing them on-screen won't allow for data entry. To save a PDF, use the "Save to PDF" or "Print to PDF" options. Once downloaded, you can fill in the information, save your progress, and submit the completed document as needed.
PLEASE NOTE: All applications must come through your Presbytery. Please contact your Presbytery Executive.
Partnering Grant
The Partnering Grants Program follows a specific protocol. Requests are created in close cooperation with Presbytery leadership and approved by the Presbytery first.
Restricted and Special Funds Grant
Restricted and Special Funds of the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii are available for application by all churches and presbyteries within the Synod. Consideration will be given to projects where matching funds from local sources are available. Typically, grants are not intended to be solely used for ongoing staff salaries.
Justice, Peace, and Intergrity of Creation Grant (JPIC)
If your church, presbytery, or Synod related partner's project idea fits within this framework of JPIC's mission, a JPIC grant might be just what you need to accomplish your goals.

The Rev. Dr. Leon E. Fanniel Racial Ethnic Pastoral Leadership (REPL) Scholarship Program
REPL provides needed spiritual and financial support for racial and ethnic persons enrolled with presbyteries within the Synod of Southern California and Hawaii as an inquirer/candidate for Teaching Elder (Minister of the Word and Sacrament), or with the presbytery and/or session for other professional ministry vocations.
Priority for scholarships shall be given to persons pursuing the M. Div. degree or its equivalent, or other presbytery-approved programs, in preparation for meeting the requirements for various ministry vocations, including parish ministry.
